A one-of-a-kind hotel stay has launched that encourages guests to take home - or 'steal' - more than $2,000 worth of luxury items.  

The Prince Hotel St Kilda has just opened a new room - Steal The Suite - to travellers who are in Melbourne and looking for a luxury stay with a twist. 

Until May 31 guests can stay in the suite and indulge in robes, linen sets, toiletries, decor, food and drink and then take it all home with them - but it will set them back $999 a night.

Steal The Suite has partnered with some of Australia's luxury brands so that guests can experience the finer things in life even if it's just for one night. 

'We have seen some guests go to extraordinary lengths to smuggle items out of their hotel room, so we decided to expose this guilty pleasure,' Hotel Manager, Ben Chan said.  

 'Steal The Suite lets guests steal items that are truly worth it,' Hotel Manager, Ben Chan said.

The suite will also offer regular shampoo sizes, a chocolate bar and luxurious bath products to truly take your stay to the next level.   

The Prince Hotel is located in a beautiful spot with sweeping views of the ocean and is close to St Kilda pier allowing guests to catch transport easily to explore the city.

The Steal The Suite offer is only available from April 5 until May 31 and the room is $999 per night.
